Of course we all know the adventures of the Hoff - saving US democracy from inside the belly of Kit, being on the spot when the Berlin Wall came down, flexing abs at any Baywatchers - but I now declare that the title 'Hoff' must now be given over to a far worthier wearer... the Grand Tuba - Gerard Hoffnung, British eccentric musician, eccentric illustrator and eccentric comedian and radio broadcaster.
I would direct those interested in Mr Hoffnung's short career (he died aged 34 in 1959) to the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerard_Hoffnung
I have slowly been building a bundling of Australia's discards of this fine fellow's varied practices and offer the following as a beacon for more finds to make their way to me of this man's prodigious output.
